56th Independence Anniversary - FG Declares Monday As Public Holiday.


The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Monday, October 3, 2016 as a Public Holiday to mark the country's 56th Independence Anniversary.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido and issued to #KinGabcosPress today in Abuja.

While making the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, The Minister of Interior, Retired Gen Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau congratulates Nigerians at home and abroad on the commemoration of this year’s independence anniversary and he assures them that the country's current General Muhammadu Buhari-led-administration is working assiduously to put various palliative measures  in place to cushion the effects of the current economic challenges.

The Minister enjoins all Nigerians to continue fully supporting President Muhammadu Buhari in his strong determination to build a strong, virile and united country in line with the dream of the country’s founding fathers.
